Biography
My name is Ryan
McKenna and I grew up In Kingston Ontario. I graduated Grade 12 at Holy Cross
Catholic Secondary School In 2014.
During my high school years I was on honor roll in grade 11 and 12. With addition to honor roll; I got the math award
in both years as well. Also during high
school I participated in extra curricular activities within and out of the
school. Within the school I participated in the play performance the “Secret
Garden” and I played on the lacrosse team from grade 10 to 12. Outside of the school I played in these
sports leagues: soccer, hockey, football, mountain biking and
snowboarding. On my spare time I really
like to be in the outdoors. I recently acquired my firearm license so I can
participate in hunting with family and friends.
I also enjoy camping and fishing with family and friends. I have been very interested in business since
my grade 11 marketing and accounting courses.
I am currently taking a 2-year insurance program course at Fanshawe
College. I am hoping to pursue Insurance
as my career after these two years. I
believe that some of my key characteristics are being dependable/reliable,
realistic and honest. I believe that these
characteristics of mine will be beneficial in becoming a successful insurance
broker.

I have really taken interest into business ever since grade 9 but it really interested me in grade 11 when I took accounting and marketing which then leaded me towards the insurance direction. How it started in grade 9 was participating as a manager for a play performance at my high school. This taught me how team work is everything in making things work; which I then related the following month when I took part in putting together a hockey tournament. I took all this experience and knowledge from these events and put together my own landscaping company. I would cut commercial lawns for companies around Kingston weekly. I then hired a couple of my friends to then help me weekly and in return they would earn some money. When I figured out that insurance was my goal as a career I applied to an insurance company for a summer job this past summer. I got the job as a receptionist. This job gave me a brief knowledge on insurance. I would take payments, guide customers over the phone and in person, I would scan information into the database and I would file and deliver mail all on a daily basis.

e-portfolio is to show my abilities, skills and accomplishments to whom it may
concern. In my e-portfolio it will

some of my interests. It will also
contain a letter of recommendation and as well as three references. Lastly it will contain some artifacts of some
projects I have completed, awards I have received, published work and some
lists of achievements.

I provided
assistance to help collect and sort non-perishable food. I was part of the technical crew, which put

enjoy staying physically fit. This
includes playing house league hockey, lacrosse, soccer, snowboarding and mountain
biking. Recently I completed the
Canadian Fire Arms and Hunting course and look forward to joining my father and
grandfather in this sport. Also, I was
present through my senior years on honour roll at Holy Cross Secondary School.
I am pursuing an insurance program at Fanshawe College, and hoping to further
my career in insurance after this degree.
